Education Strategy
Golux Strategies offers focused, systems-based education strategy support for parents of children with learning differences, ADHD, executive functioning difficulties, anxiety, and related challenges. The work is strategic and analytical — translating and synthesizing complex documentation where it exists, identifying gaps, and determining what to do next. Golux Strategies also offers ongoing coaching services for those navigating parenting challenges.
It’s Personal
I bring to this work an extensive professional background — as an educator, a coach, and a researcher who has spent decades working with neurodivergent learners and the systems that serve them. But the expertise that drives this work is more than academic.
I am the parent of a child with learning differences. Despite years of training and a deep familiarity with educational systems, I found the process disorienting — dense with documentation, short on clarity, and structured in ways that consistently isolated parents from the information and support they needed. I trusted the system. I ignored my own instincts. The result was years of frustration and preventable learning loss, followed by expensive interventions that failed to address the underlying problems. I started educating myself, found my footing, and eventually became president of my town's Special Education Parent Advisory Council. It was only after building that foundation that I felt empowered enough to hire an advocate and a lawyer. The result: my child received the correct supports and flourished.
This work exists to help parents find their footing faster — to provide a thought partner with the professional expertise and the personal experience to help them read the terrain, identify what's missing, and empower them to advocate effectively for their child's needs.
Services
Education Navigation
Education Navigation is a structured two-session engagement that helps parents understand their child's situation, identify gaps, and determine next steps.
Session One — Intake
The engagement begins with a comprehensive discussion of the child's history, current academic situation, and parental concerns and goals.
Between Sessions — Education Navigation Report
After submitting all relevant materials — evaluations, IEPs, 504 plans — parents receive an advance copy of the Education Navigation Report which, informed by the intake session, reviews and synthesizes all provided material and identifies concerns, gaps, questions, next steps, and resources.
The Education Navigation Report includes:
An overview of the situation and challenges
A plain-language summary of documentation
Identification of key concerns and gaps
Priority focus areas
Key questions
Recommended next steps
Curated resources specific to the situation
Session Two — Report Review and Strategy
The engagement closes with a review session where parents can ask questions and talk through next steps. Parents leave the session with clarity and an action plan.
All sessions are conducted over Zoom.
Parent Support Coaching
Parent Support Coaching is an ongoing coaching engagement for parents navigating the challenges of raising children in complex times — from supporting children with learning differences, ADHD, and related challenges, to building the structures and systems that help families function.
Sessions are conducted weekly or biweekly over Zoom. Engagements require a minimum three-month commitment.
